A tough 1901 S key date barber quarter graded AG 3 by NGC that has been approved by CAC for quality. This key date coin is by far the toughest to obtain for the entire barber quarter series. These have been extremely difficult to find lately in an 'affordable' grade level such as this one. It has been housed in a newer style NGC prong holder. It has a full good obverse with a bold clear date and mint-mark. It also has choice original surfaces and is seldom offered in this grade level having been approved by CAC for quality.
This key date coin has a small mintage of only 72,664. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 2,000 have survived in all grades today! It is one of only 173 graded About Good 3 by NGC. It is also one only 54 approved by CAC for quality in this grade level.
