    Description

This is a souvenir hot plate or hot dish mat from the 1936 Great Lakes Exposition held in Cleveland.  Also called the Cleveland Centennial.  When we found this piece it was wrapped in cellophane.  When we picked it up the brittle cellophane disintegrated into a hundred small pieces.  That is the reason this souvenir looks brand new-it had been protected by the old cellophane for 83 years.  The embossing on the top is beautiful.  First one of these we have seen.  Measures 7" X 10."  We are unsure what the silver material is on the top.
