1956 Gretsch Western Cowboy Amp
Electromatic “Twin” model 6169
Western finish, Campfire belt buckle, Wrap around grille, Tooled leather trim, Tremolo, Three Rola speakers and dual 6V6 Power Tubes.
Looks to be all original. Signs of 66 years of age include some small tears/bubbling in the Tolex and fray on the top/bottom tweed. The tweed is all original factory installed so this was probably custom for some lucky Atkins fan!
Amp works great and, apart from the obvious signs of wear, would make a cracking good partner for a Roundup guitar. It has that country tone that few amps nail but I don't get around to playing much anymore so off it goes.
These sell for K in great shape. This one? Less so. Get a deal on this extremely rare model that very rarely hits the market!
Beware of others selling 6161 models converted to the Roundup or those with replaced Jensen speakers or old and rusted connectors and tube hardware. This is very clean for its age. A player for sure. Note that it is less yellow than the pictures would indicate due to the overhead lighting. The few that I took with the flash are more accurate.
