Selling a very rare 1964 Epiphone Constellation piggy back 6L6 tube amplifier head with 1x15 speaker cabinet.
This set is in collectors condition. A true time capsule. They only made 227 of these in 1964.. the amp runs a pair of 6l6 power tubes, two 6eu7 preamp tubes and a 6c4.
The amp was just serviced with a new safe 3 prong power cord, new matched pair of 6l6gc power tubes and a few resistors replaced. Electrolytic capacitors are newer as well.. important parts such as the transformers and speaker are original. The on/off switch has had the standby option disabled. The switch is missing a terminal on the switch to activate. So it was bypassed.
These were designed as a bass amp. I find that it sounds great with bass or if you want to use it for guitar it also sounds pretty good. I have used the head into a 4x12 guitar cab and it gets some great tube overdrive when pushed.
Cosmetically the amp and speaker show normal wear for the age. This includes small tolex imperfections, Metal wear or other defects. But overall its in amazing condition for the age!
