Description
Travel back in time with this awesome old guitar amplifier. It's a classic Silvertone Twin Twelve. Silvertone was, of course, the old Sears & Roebuck department store guitar brand, from about 1940 to 1970.The amp itself was manufactured in New Jersey in 1965. The CTS pots have a date code of 1376542, indicating they were made in October 1965.
I believe this amplifier is all original, down to the original vacuum tubes. The downside is that it does not work. I powered it up over a full day with a Variac. It doesn't work. The power light doesn't even come on. The front panel and back panel are tarnished. It came out of a smoking house. I've been airing it out, but it still has a cigarette smell. Not as much as it had when I got it last week, but it's still there some.
It's a classic old amplifier that needs some service. Who's up for the challenge?
