NOTE: Even though this is listed as pick-up only, we can arrange shipping if you cannot pick it up. Please message us to work something out.
This is a serious piece of rare, vintage amplifier history, as seen on the stages of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival and by some of your favorite artists of the late 1960s and early 1970s. This is a museum quality 1968 Sunn 1000S All Tube 120 Watt Guitar Amp Head and matching 1968 Sunn 6 x 12 Speaker Cabinet. All electronics and materials on this amp are 100% ORIGINAL and in near mint condition.
You will seriously have trouble finding this amp in this condition just about anywhere in the world. This amp will blow out the windows in both you and your neighbor’s house with unreal sonic tone and unbelievable volume potential.
Original covers(speaker cab cover retains interior sewn on Sunn label)for the head & speaker cabinet are included as well as the original branded Sunn foot switch for Reverb & Vibrato. Everything is ultra, incredibly clean!
We have had maintenance performed that was necessary to get this amp into excellent playing condition. Power cord was changed out to a grounded plug, all power supply capacitors were replaced, all tubes were tested & all of the pots were thoroughly cleaned. Also, all of the electronics were cleaned and tested and the amp is in 100% complete working order. Check up & maintenance was performed by our esteemed friend & incredible electronics technician James W. Nicholls, proprietor of JWN Amplification & Electronics, located at Barracks Trading Post, Maple Shade, NJ.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL ~ NO RETURNS~
ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD IN AS-IS CONDITION.
CONDITION:
This amp looks just as good as it did back in 1968 and has been maintained throughout its history with the utmost care and respect. Tolex, grill cloth & hardware are all without any defect, stains, tears, burns, etc. All interior electronics(the valves, transformers, caps, & wiring) are also ultra clean. There may be a few dog hairs floating around on the exterior from our beagle boy Ace, but this will be cleaned off prior to transfer. Speaker cab features 6 Original Sunn 12” diameter Transducer speakers for plenty of sonic air movement & transfer. There are plenty of years on this, although it is impossible to see and this rig could possibly be placed in a museum to highlight the killer, vintage amps of the late 1960's.
SPECIFICATIONS & FEATURES:
This is a 120 watt (280 watts peak) single channel amplifier head having reverb & vibrato & includes 2 normal & 2 bright inputs, totaling 4 inputs. Both components feature original black Tolex covering & all original silver grille. Such an iconic look! It features a 9 tube chassis.
The preamp section includes:
1 x 7025
1 x 12AU7
1 6AN8
The power section includes:
4 x KT88/6550
2 x GZ34 rectifier tubes. The silver front control panel has 7 black witches’ hat knobs for volume, bass, treble, contour, vibrato rate & depth, & reverb. There is also a midboost switch, a standby switch, a polarity switch & a power switch. Head dimensions are: 30" wide x 10" tall x 9.5" deep. The speaker cabinet includes 6 original 12" Sunn Transducer speakers in an infinite baffle design & is constructed of plywood. The cabinet measures: 30" wide x 48" tall x 15" deep & is supported by the original casters. Approximate weight of both pieces is 200 lbs. This Sunn model 1000S, was manufactured from the late 1960s to the mid 1970s. All things considered, this is a pristine example of possibly the most powerful, all tube guitar amp head & cab that Sunn ever produced, and it sounds equally as impressive as it looks.
SPECIAL PACKAGING NOTE: All tubes will be removed from the amp and packed/shipped separately to insure safe arrival. This is our standard packaging procedure. Depending on space in the box for the amp cabinet, you may receive a separate parcel just for the tubes.
