The auction is for no. 2 Mustard 27 nF 0,027uF Philips-Mullard capacitors Kondensatoren vertical mount
Dimensions: Lenght, 20mm. Diameter, 8,5mm. Full lead lenght, 70mm. Weight, 1,60 gr
The 27 nF value can substitute without any problem the 22nF values used in these amplifiers, being both the 27nF than the 22nF at 10% tolerance, the 27 can vary down to 24nF and the 22 can go up to 24nf too... anyway, even increasing the value of 5 nF you should will have a very SLIGHT extension on the bass response, (around, 0,2 dB) but I don't think you'll never hear it (may be you can hear it with an oscilloscope...), but sure you'll hear to a good sound!
These caps are vertical mount, but is very easy use them in a turret board, the smallest lead is 1 cm long and the total lenght is 2,5 Inches, so you'll have no problem solder them on a 2 Inches turret board
These are the ORIGINAL capacitors used in early Marshall amplifiers like JTM45 Plexi and in most of the tube stuff built in Europe during the '60/70, like binson echorec echo tube delay and Vox amplifiers
These caps have a very clear and musical sound, I use them to upgrade amplifiers like the JCM 800 too. Is very simple substitute the 5 stock white"boxed style" 0,022 µF coupling caps used from Marshall in the '80 with these (see pic). Being vertical mount the installation is very easy... As soon you put these caps on the board, you'll listen immediately to a more open and detailed sound
