  • Condition: Published in 1800 by Bunney & Gold [marked on the print], this aquatint was hand colored--now in good condition. There is some light water damage on the bottom left side. It has Birds Eye Maple framing; which was very popular in the 19th century. I cannot prove that the frame is original; but several antique dealers said it probably is. The frame has several "accidental chips" in the bottom and left side. PLEASE VIEW AND NOTE THE CHIPS before bidding.

    (after all, it is 220 years old; and has to have moved 10 or more times??)......[perhaps you might say the family lore is that it was passed down to you by your great grandfather?]
    PLEASE VIEW AND NOTE THE CHIPS before bidding. This non-military scene is a little unusual because if was produced after Napoleon was defeated in Egypt, and before the battle of Trafalgar. Most aquatints of this vintage were of large Naval Battle ships.
    The outer frame measurements are approximately 12.5 inches by 12 inches by 2 inches.
