Antique iron enameled medal, memento mori, masonry? with chain

Description

This is an extremely rare "memento mori" medal. Triangular (pyramid) shape enameled (Limoges enamel) in front with three skulls design and a hermetic text: “fu mendicante, chi sapiente, chi regnante” probably its origin was a mendicant religious order notwithstanding the shape and the skulls could refer to a Franc masonry too.
The medal is attached to a long iron chain. The enamel is chipped in all three corners;
but there is no other damage.
This does not affect to appreciate the complete design.
