A beefy Bold Look-era bellywarmer that’s sure to sate any sartorial appetite, featuring designs of red, white and sandy tan on brown. 100% silk, made by Beau Brummell and retailed through Fred’k W. Donnelly & Son of Trenton, NJ, c.mid-late 1940s. Excellent vintage condition, one small spot and faint marks 3” and 6” from tip, respectively.
Frederick W. Donnelly (1866-1935) served as mayor of Trenton from 1911 until 1932. He started his men’s clothing business in 1894, having entered the trade as a traveling salesman. At the time of its closure, the haberdashery was the oldest continually-operated, family-owned retail business in Trenton.
