    Description

This vintage, hand-painted necktie is made of rayon fabric, and the tie is lined. Both ends of the tie are squared off. The tie is approximately 53 inches long and 3 7/8 inches at it widest place, at the bottom of the front side. This necktie is multicolored with shades of red, black, brown, plum, and yellow. The design is mostly art deco, with some curving and curly lines that hint of art nouveau too.
In addition to the statement written on the back of the tie, attesting to the hand painting being done by someone from the Beau Brummell Company, there is also a black fabric label with these words: "Wallace" and "Salinas." From that label, I assume that the tie was first sold from a Wallace brand tie in Salinas, California, where it was also painted. (The black label is at the bottom of the back of the tie.)
