This item was made at the request of the event chairman. At least three were made. All were worn by officials at the event. They were donated, except this one which was one of the two assemblers. And this assembler wasn't asked he was just told to do it or the drill team would throw me in jail! An older woman, like a 15 or 16 year old, would hunt you down and put you in the fundraiser jail booth. Oh what fun it would be to be a kid again.
Silverado Days is a community fair hosted & organized by the Buena Park Noon Lions Club. Though it is in Buena Park at William Peak Park near Knott's Berry Farm, California it involves many people of neighboring cities and greater community. Over the years they have held events such as a real Parade of Bands & Floats, Chili Cookoff, Pancake Breakfast, Arts & Crafts festival, Hog Calling, Mens' Legs Contest, 5K & 10K runs, Miss Silverado Days competition, food courts, carnival rides, fund raising booths & drawing and other things. Most of these activities benefited local charities.
