A historical cartoon about the Cardiff Giant, one of the most famous hoaxes in American history. This 10-foot-tall "petrified man" was uncovered in 1869 by workers digging a well in Cardiff, New York. PT Barnum tried to buy it. The statue is still on display at the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown NY.
