Festival of Arts Pageant the Masters 1956 program from the collection of a Laguna Beach makeup artist, who worked at the pageant for over 30 years. The festival started a "Living Pictures" show, where Lolita Perine, a vaudvillian, dressed locals in costume and seated them behind a makeshift frame, in the spirit of the painting. Today with the magic of lighting and makeup, locals are still dressed to look like paintings, framed, and enthralling young and old alike in the Pageant of the Masters.
