We believe that this little cutie is a pie vent, (pie "bird"). His base is open and his mouth is open, so the steam can come out. He appears to be an Arabian genie.
He is made out of pottery, a red clay. It is unglazed in the areas of his skin, giving him a more life-like apprearance. He has plenty of detail, such as wrinkles in the corners of his eyes.
He has a cute little pot belly. He is looking at a fistful of gold coins, with a surprised look on his face. He is scratching his bald head. He has a pouch of, (presumably), more coins tied to his waist.
His deep green robe is embellished with a multitude of dots and scalloped designs. A white cloth is knotted at his waist.
He stands about 3 1/2" tall. His base is 1 3/4" by 1 3/8" wide. He weighs approximately 3 ounces.
If you purchase more than one item for us, we can send everything in one package. Many times this means you will receive FREE shipping on your additional purchases, depending on the amount of additional weight! May we ask you to please take a moment to look, (above), at the other treasures we have for sale?
Please click on the high resolution photographs to automatically enlarge them. You will be able to clearly see the detail of this item. A picture is worth a thousand words!
Layaway is available on all of our items. Our layaway program is free, without any hidden fees. We can work out a plan with you if you would rather pay for an item in installments. Since we deal in antique, collectible and one-of-a-kind items all of our sales are final...no returns, please.
We accept PayPal as a payment method; we also accept credit cards and e-checks through PayPal. Connecticut residents will be charged 6.35% sales tax, unless you have Connecticut Tax Exempt or Resale Number. All other states will not be charged sales tax, since it is an out-of-state sale.
We have good news for you...WE NEVER MARK-UP SHIPPING COSTS AND WE DO NOT CHARGE YOU HANDLING FEES!!! We are in the antique business, not the postal business! We also combine shipping on multiple auction purchases to save you money--we can send all of your purchases from us in one package. We try our best to only charge you what the post office charges us. Insurance, (which will cover your item against loss or damage), is included in the shipping price for items shipped to locations within the United States.
Normally will ship your item to you within 2 days of the auction's close if paid with PayPal. If it is a rush, (if you are giving it as a gift, etc.), please let us know and we will do our best to send it out immediately. If you purchase multiple items from us, we will ship them all in one package so you can save money on your total shipping costs!
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: We welcome, (and are thankful for), all bids from our international buyers. Please use the shipping calculator or email us and we will give you a shipping quote. Please note that package tracking may not be available on items sent out of the United States to other countries. (However, we will file a Customs Declaration at our local post office at the time of shipping, which will provide proof that the item was shipped). First Class Airmail is the least expensive way to send items internationally; it can be used for packages under 4 lbs. in weight, however package tracking is never offered by the U.S. Post Office on this method. Priority Mail International and Express Mail International delivery does track packages to certain countries, however some countries do not offer this; the U.S. Post Office cannot guarantee that your package will arrive in your country without damage, if it even arrives at all, without these special services. If you are willing to take this chance, then we will welcome your bid. We will do our best to cushion all items thoroughly and we will wrap them with care. Thank you!
OUR COTTAGE BUSINESS
"CURIOUS GOODS 13" is located in rural Connecticut, where the winters are chilly and snowy, and the summers are green and lush. We have been selling antiques and collectibles in the New England area for 31 years, so you can be assured that we are an established, reputable business. New England is rich in both history and antiques from long ago. It is very exciting to find a long forgotten treasure tucked away in an old steamer trunk or dusty corner. Let us do the hunting in the cobweb-filled attics and barns, and you can shop for the unusual in the comfort of your own living room!
