    Description

OK, I will agree with my wife that I have too many amps, especially small single-ended ones.    Selling off some of the duplicates, starting with this one.
Here's an early 1960s Harmony H303 -- the best of the 303 series in my opinion.     It came from the Chicago factory with an isolation transformer for safety, something that was dropped on later "hot chassis" amps.   It uses all octal tubes -- 12SQ7, 50L6, and 35Z5.  The octals give it a little bit different tone.    303s usually have a 6" or 8" Jensen speaker, but this one came stock with a 6x9 Utah instead -- Harmony must have got a deal on Utah speakers at the time.
The filter caps were replaced, although the cap can was left for appearance.     The big connecting cap was replaced with an orange drop, other caps checked out OK.   All resistors were checked and replaced if needed.     There's also a fuse now - hidden in the chassis - and a grounded cord so everything is updated.   All 3 tubes checked out OK.    This little guy is ready to play for another 60 years.    A  303 is a  good bedroom amp -- you can drive it with a pedal if you want more volume, but it sounds good as is, and these are pretty responsive to playing style.    This is a quiet one as far as hum -- you can hear it's on, but it's not intrusive.    Cab is scruffy but in good shape, leather handle is old but intact, and speaker cloth shows age and use but nothing too ugly (the little Hamony metal badge is missing from the front).
    Local pickup is good.
