INDONESIA-BALI PIERCE-WORK CARVED AND DECORATED
DESK LAMP
Offered for your consideration is an unusual carved shade and base ambiance lamp. This item was purchased new by the seller while working for the State Department in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1997. The shade lifts off the base. The light socket, cord and switch are original to the piece. The carvings are completely hand made on all sides of the shade and center base. The carving motifs are typical of the culture; likely Balinese.  All carvings are thru & thru known as pierce-work. The colors are vibrant and undamaged. There is minor separation in the corners of the base coming from a jungle to dessert environment. I use this lamp as an ambiance piece only using low wattage bulbs which I believe it to be its intended purpose. Dimensions: Shade: 14.5x 14.4. Pedestal: 5x5". Base: 8x8".
