ITEM DESCRIPTION:
VERY RARE! It's a brochure for the newly revamped Budapest International Fair of 1925, April 18 - 27. The fair was formed in 1896 for the Millennium of Hungary, being called the 1896 Millennial National Exhibition, opened by Franz Josef I - amazing things such as airships, newsreels, etc were featured. In 1925 they decided to go international, changing the name to the
Budapest International Fair, with the famous new symbol of a winged art deco Mercury (Hermes), with the even getting bigger and bigger every year. This one is in incredible shape considering that these weren't meant to last almost 100 years, being made from somewhat thin paper, etc. The front even has a rare railroad station stamp on the cover: "MÁV Budapest" which stands for
"Magyar Állami Vasutak", translates to
"Hungarian State Railways Budapest"; and  "Gellért téri mellékmenetje" which translates to "Secondary branch at Gellért Sq.". Also,  many ads, and note this is in English.
The front, bottom, says "Horváth - E "; the inner title page says at bottom "V. Hornyánszky, Ltd. printing-house, the the Royal Court of Hungary"
