More than a superlative sounding amplifier, this Fender Deluxe Reverb-Amp is a piece of West Coast Jazz history.Originally property of Rita Moss, best known for her vocal gymnastics and four octave range and also being a talented multi-instrumental musician. She probably never played guitar, she wanted it for her band. From the internal circuitry and construction, date code stamped on the tube chart, serial numbers and transformer numbers, we believe it to be one of those produced in late January, 1964. The serial number of 529 indicates it’s also a rare collector piece. The current owner, now in his 90s, is Lyle Ames. Lyle joined her ensemble in 1966. During that time, Lyle participated in several album projects. Her guitar player during that era was Joe Pass, who played this amplifier in live performance and studio.Speaker & reverb spring are original. Has been serviced to restore it to original operating condition. The original Tolex has been reglued. No foot switch. WYSIWYG.
