Here is a boxed remote control toy sold as a 'Mars Explorer Rover'. This toy measures about 9 inches long, 6 inches wide and 4 inches tall. It is very realistic and based on the actual NASA Sojourner Mars Rover. It was made in 1997 in China by Scientific Toys, Inc., following NASA's successful landing of Sojourner on Mars that year. The real rover was the size of a microwave oven. This toy has a corded remote control box that allows it to go forward and reverse. With 6-wheel drive, independent suspension and all-terrain tires, it can go over obstacles. The pretend cameras light up. Realistic-looking solar cell panel (non-functional) and rotating antenna mast with US flag. It uses 4 AA batteries (not included). This one has been tested and it works great. The window box has some storage wear and slight damage but for a 24 year old item it is in good condition. It is very clean has never been played with but has been in our space collection for decades. See photos for details.Shipping by Priority Mail with tracking provided.
