    Description

    Rare book mark from the centennial year of the Omaha Nebraska Trans-Mississippi Exposition.  Features painting by Mary Cassatt “The Child’s Bath” (1893).    - -   From May 30 – August 16, 1998, Joslyn Art Museum (Omaha) paid tribute to the fact that the original expo highlighted not only the economic, but the cultural potential of the regions west of the Mississippi River.  The Fair’s magnificent Fine Arts Building expressed the cultural aspirations of the organizers and housed an enormous exhibition of over 700 paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, etc.   See BACK of bookmark for interesting info, sponsors of the current festivities and exhibits,  Joslyn Art Museum location, phone number, hours, ticket prices, attributes for the painting include the Art Institute of Chicago.  Exhibit organized by Joslyn, was part of the city-wide Trans-Miss Centennial Celebration – made possible by the Walter & Suzanne Scott Foundation and Union Pacific Foundation.  - - - SEE PHOTOS for all information included - - Measurements:   8” X  2 ¼”.   - - There is a crease across the middle and a couple at top left but hard to see unless turned to light.   - - - This has been in our very clean smoke-free home since it was new in 1998.  - - Please also check our other listings and “follow” us on eBay as we’re constantly listing more items for sale.
