Description
Batch of paperwork for the Lawley Ketch "Temptress", 47', built in 1890. This paperwork is from the early 1950's under ownership Colonel Osgood Nickerson, of Bangor Maine, I believe, but he kept the boat in Maryland. Much work done by boatbuilder Ernest H. Hartge of Galesville, MD. Includes work receipts, dockage receipts, insurance papers, letters, etc. including a 2 page survey and a 2 page inventory of equipment. Apparently launched for owner Owen Ferguson in Brooklyn, NY. Designed by Philip Ellsworth, builder George Lawley, Centerboard Cutter. She won four races in four starts in 1891. Original name "Tigress". Name under Osgood, "Temptress".If this is an auction listing there is no "Buy it Now" price--please don't ask. We don't end auctions early. If this is a "Buy It Now" listing we do not participate in the "Make An Offer" program--no haggling.
