This 3/4" diameter, round, nickel silver St Pio medal, from Italy, with the words "Patron saint of pain and healing" on the back.
Comes on a 24" stainless steel chain, which is continuous, with no clasp.  You can slip it on and off over your head - fits over most size heads.  Comes gift-boxed and with a St Padre Pio prayer card, plus a gift bag and tissue paper, plus a few other prayer cards of our choice, although if you mention another saint when you purchase the medal we will include that saint's card if we have it.

St Pio is the patron saint of January blues (cabin fever); adolescents (teens); stress relief, civil defense volunteers, and is known as a powerful, miraculous intercessor for people in need of healing.
Saint Padre Pio is a saint of the 20th century; there are still people alive today who remember him and the miraculous stories that surrounded him.  Father Pio was born in 1887, the son of a shepherd.  He entered a novitiate at 15 and joined the Capuchin friars at 19.  He was ordained a priest at age 22.  He had many health problems all his life.  He received the stigmata in 1918.  He became well-known in Italy and founded a charity hospital.  Word was spread of his miracles by American soldiers returning home from WWII.  It was said he could bi-locate; during confession could read the conciences of those to whom he ministered; and could see and speak to his guardian angel and other angels.  A truly fascinating and inspirational person which makes this chaplet a nice gift for anyone struggling with faith or suffering with illness or special needs.
