This highly detailed, Shamrock V yacht model is Brand New, fully assembled and ready for display (not a kit). You just need to raise the mast and adjust the rigging, a moderate skill level is required. The Shamrock V Yacht model is built plank on bulkhead by master craftsmen. Built according to scale through original plans. What makes this a very unique model sailboat is the exposed ribs, you can see right through this model boat. All of the framing has been sanded smooth and varnished with many coats. Only high quality wood and metal were used to build the model, absolutely no plastic parts. The Shamrock V was launched by Sir Thomas Lipton after his fourth had lost. For his challenger, Lipton turned once more to Charles Nicholson, who produced a beautiful J Boat. When the races started, Shamrock found herself pitted against Enterprise. In the best-of-seven series Enterprise won four, Shamrock failed to score a single victory. The Shamrock V is still sailing and racing today.
The Shamrock V Yacht model is scratched built plank on bulkhead by skillful and creative master craftsmen. It was built according to scale through original plans, pictures and drawings.
