    Description

This is a fantastic 1960s Silvertone 1482 1×12 Combo! Point to point hand-wired circuit. These amps sound every bit as good as some of the Fenders of the same era. For the most part the tolex is in great shape other than the one upper left back corner visible in the photo.  Unlike most listing, this one does have the original foot pedal.  I think most of these were lost or damaged over the years.
These amps were produced for the Sears and Roebuck company by Danelectro for about five years through the middle part of the 60s. They've been referred to as the "poor man's Deluxe" for their incredible gain, touch-sensitive responsiveness, and 15 watt 6V6 push/pull tube power section, features which are all very reminiscent of the Fender Deluxe model from the late '50s.
This amp really does tap into what made Fender's Tweed amps great, and for a fraction of the price. The Silvertone 1482 is one of the best bargains on the vintage amp market. With simple controls for Volume and Tone for both the Mic and Instrument inputs, the amp also boasts a powerful bias-based tremolo circuit that has a great pulse and smooth waveform.
This amp has been gone through and had it's death cap removed, a grounded three prong power cord installed, along with the replacement of some out of spec capacitors.
