Standel 32J12T Tube Hybrid Amp ca 1961

Circa 1961 Standel 32J12T.
The first of Standel’s hybrids, this amp features a tube power amp section, paired with a solid state preamp.
While not as harsh sounding as some of Standel’s later solid state amps, this amp still probably wouldn’t be your goto for boogie inspired blues rock….this amp is clean sounding, full, and unforgiving. Tone stack sounds similar to Standel’s earlier and highly coveted tube amps (I have a few on hand to compare to).
The speaker is the original 12” Jensen Syntax 6. (The J in 32J12T stands for
“Jensen” )The tremolo feature on this amp is intermittent; an all too common problem on Standel amps.
When it works, it sounds amazing.
When it doesn’t, the amp still functions correctly in all other facets.
