    Description

Up for your consideration is this
Early 1900's Sulphur Springs Hoard Recovered 1904 Barber Silver Quarter with COA
    Description:
The coin weighs 4.68 grams and is  darkened by  sulphur water exposure with some light-gray toning on obverse (as found) over readable details including date.
Included with the coin is it's original hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity.
An Interesting provenance to a small hoard of coins discovered in 1976 during the demolition of the remains of an arcade at the site of the early 1900s mineral springs resort in present day Tampa, Florida.
sSulphur Springs is considered Florida's first tourist attraction and thrived during the early 1900's attracting people from all across the country who believed the waters had a medicinal effect. In present day the once popular attraction is now in ruins with only one original stone bathhouse visible.
(Note: The last image in listing is for historical reference only and is not part of the auction).
A very poignant and interesting artifact from Florida's early recreational history!
