A Superior Quality Hand Carved Figure
Bali/Indonesia Circa 1960's
On offer here is this large carved wooden 'Balinese' figure of superior craftsmanship, disposed as a lithe and tall, beautiful lady scantilly draped in a diaphanous veil.
She is depicted in an apparent dance pose holding a part of her veil above the head and stands on an integral solid wooden dais which is carved by the artist as a large Lotus root, several buds springing from it.
This piece is clearly the work of a master carver and as a result, a cut above the average both in presentation and style.
