    Description

These two shields were collected in the early 20th Century by a Missionary named Dr. Long who spent time in Indonesia and New Guinea. I got them from his granddaughter's estate. I do not know where they were made, but the decorative patterns look very similar to those in Aceh and Sumatra. The plates seem to be made of brass, are engraved, and are held in place with many small nails.
