Description:
Designed and drawn by Steve Bosustow,
presumably
. Meant to be the predecessor to the 1963 Toucan Sam that appeared on cereal boxes of the era. Bosustow was a Disney Artist formerly
head of the competing UPA Hollywood Studios, an animation house founded by former Disney employees around 1941.
Drawing is Uncredited and unsigned.
Unused, vintage
folding
greeting card published in 1954 by
Greetings Inc,
featuring a colorful, embossed, animation Toucan. Last picture shows the embossing from the back of the page. Comes complete with original envelope, which stills has a 5-cent price label attached and intact, confirming its true vintage nature. Card is in excellent condition with just a little vintage wear and the traditional, light age tanning to the back, white side, partially seen in the second to last picture.
Dark blue
background in first 2 pictures is not part of the item. Card is pictured opened in front of the blue backdrop to show the die cut edges.
Third
picture shows the front of the card folded, without the blue backdrop.
