This listing is for a vintage 1980s gorgeous tie with hand painted dragonflies and plants in a Japanesque style on a dark brown background. It is signed on the end in Japanese by the artist.
This is from a collection of vintage hand-painted ties from the 1980s that belonged to my grandfather. All of them had their tags except this one, but this tie is in excellent condition and also appears to be unused based on the condition. The original prices of the other ties started at . This is a Countess Mara 100% silk tie that was made in the USA with imported silk.
This tie measures 3 1/2” across at its widest and 54" in length

There are 2 sewn-in tags. One says "THE WARA 75 - COUNTESS MARA - NEW YORK" and the other says "BURKHARDT'S FINE STORES FOR MEN", which was a men's clothing store in Cincinnati, Ohio from where my grandfather purchased this tie in the 1980s.
