This item is A VINTAGE SHIP PRINT ENGRAVING BY CROSSCUP & WEST IN PHILADELPHIA. I WAS ABLE TO FIND A REFERENCE TO THEM AT AN 1871 CONVENTION IN PHILADELPHIA BUT I WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND MUCH ELSE ON THEM. THE ENGRAVING IS VERY NICE AND DETAILED AND IT CAME OUT OF A BOOK BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THE WORDS THROUGH THE PAGE BEHIND THE ENGRAVING. I AM NOT SURE WHAT SHIP IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE AS IT IS NOT MARKED. BUT IT IS A NICE OLD ENGRAVING NONE THE LESS. IT IS FRAMED AND READY FOR HANGING. THE BACK IS MARKED BY THE FORMER OWNER, A BUSINESS. THE ENGRAVING ITSELF IS ABOUT 4 1/4" BY 7 3/8" IN SIZE. THE FULL ITEM WITH THE FRAME IS ABOUT 9 1/2" BY 12 1/2" IN SIZE. IT IS A GREAT OLD PRINT FOR YOUR COLLECTION. This is in excellent condition with minor wear from age and use. There is just wear on the frame from use over the years.
This piece is from a LIFE LONG collector of marine items. I was lucky enough to get a number of the great items from this collection and I am happy to pass them on to other collectors. This man spent his life collecting and organizing in great detail items from his collection. I will be listing these items, so please put a watch on my items if you are interested in anything marine, sea, ship, boat, steamship, or any floating vessel related! I have lots of different items left to sell.
