    Description

This is a vintage necktie featuring exceptional quality woven silk.
This tie came with a lot of other ties that were sold at The Persian Shop, located at 534 Madison Avenue in New York City - this one has no tie loop, so the origin is not indicated, but there is no doubt as to where it was purchased.
The Persian Shop began as an antiques, jewelry and imported curio business in 1941 and still exists at that address today although it now sells primarily modern design jewelry.
I’m assuming by its style that the tie dates to the late 50s or early 60s.
The fabric used in this tie is quite exquisite, a mix of blue, red, white and cyan coloured thread woven in a floral pattern, with figures and Persian script, very rich looking.
The tie is in very good condition, maybe a tiny bit of wear to the bottom edge, but this is really minor - I have not had it dry cleaned, and there is some yellowing to the white silk lining, but it is in very usable condition as is.
    The tie measures
57 1/2” in length and has a width of 2 3/4” at its widest.
This tie is really gorgeous - unique in quality and look!
